About the Role

We’re delighted to be partnering with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit an experienced Senior Fire Engineer for their Birmingham office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking team working on a diverse portfolio of projects across commercial, residential, education, and healthcare sectors.

As a Senior Fire Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the design, management, and delivery of innovative fire safety strategies — helping shape safe, sustainable buildings across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of fire safety strategies for complex building projects.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and graduate staff.

  • Liaise with clients, architects, building control, and other stakeholders.

  • Conduct fire modelling, evacuation analysis, and risk assessments.

  • Ensure all designs comply with current fire safety legislation and relevant standards (BS 9999, BS 7974, etc.).

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company’s fire engineering processes and best practices.

About You
  • Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a consultancy environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of UK fire safety codes and regulations.

  • Proven experience delivering projects across multiple sectors.

  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.

  • Ideally working towards or already hold Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the IFE or equivalent.
