Panoramic Associates is currently working with a Local Authority client based in the West Midlands region to facilitate the appointment of a Track Engineer / Technical Specialist on an interim basis for an initial 6-month contract (with likely extension).

This role offers the chance to be part of one of the most exciting light rail projects the UK has seen in years. With the programme entering a pivotal stage of delivery, the client is seeking additional technical expertise to ensure the highest standards of track engineering are met. Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Provide specialist technical advice on track design, construction, and maintenance for a light rail system.

  • Work closely with contractors, consultants, and project teams to drive technical assurance and compliance with rail standards.

  • Oversee site inspections, resolve technical issues, and ensure delivery quality.

  • Contribute to project progress by supporting engineering queries and ensuring best practice across the programme.



To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Proven experience as a Track Engineer or Technical Specialist, ideally within light rail or major rail infrastructure.

  • Strong knowledge of track design, construction methods, and relevant safety standards.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
