I am working with one of the UK's leading main contractors, a national business with a turnover exceeding 500m, specializing in the delivery of large-scale residential and industrial projects up to 200m. Due to a significant project win, they are seeking a high-calibre Senior Design Manager to lead the design on a landmark 200m residential scheme in the heart of Birmingham.

The Role:

  • Leading and coordinating a multidisciplinary design team, including external consultants and internal stakeholders.

  • Ensuring the design is fully compliant with all relevant regulations, standards, and client specifications.

  • Managing the flow of design information and resolving any design-related issues in a timely manner.

  • Chairing and leading design review meetings.

  • Working closely with the project management, commercial, and construction teams to ensure a cohesive and efficient delivery.

  • Reviewing and approving technical submissions and drawings.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and technically proficient Senior Design Manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale residential projects (in excess of 50m). You will be a strong communicator with excellent leadership skills and the ability to influence and manage multiple parties.

Essential Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a construction or design-related field.

  • Demonstrable experience as a Senior Design Manager on multi-million-pound residential schemes.

  • A solid understanding of design management processes, building regulations, and BIM.

In return for your expertise, you will receive a highly competitive salary of 80,000 - 90,000, along with a company car or allowance, a performance-related bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. This is a chance to make a significant impact on a high-profile development and further your career with a market leader.
