Our client is currently searching for an experienced Traffic Engineering Project Manager to join their team on a contract basis. This crucial role involves the leadership and delivery of significant traffic engineering programmes aimed at enhancing road safety and community wellbeing. Reporting directly to the Traffic Engineering Manager, you will oversee high-impact projects and ensure their successful completion.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of the 20mph Speed Limit Programme and Traffic Engineering Safety Scheme Programme, ensuring the projects stay on track in terms of performance, timelines, finance, and risk management.
  • Manage and coordinate various traffic engineering programmes, planning and organising resources to meet project objectives within agreed constraints.
  • Chair and lead regular meetings with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to discuss project progress and actions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Traffic Engineering Manager to cultivate a 'one team' culture among all parties involved.
  • Attend in-person meetings approximately once every 2-4 weeks to ensure effective project communication.


Job Requirements:

  • Strong project management experience, ideally within traffic engineering, highways, or transport infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and foster collaborative working practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and consistently deliver outcomes within scope and budget.
  • A proactive and organised approach to problem-solving and risk management.
