We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager (EHS Manager) to lead safety compliance and promote a world-class safety culture across our client's operations at their brand-new, state-of-the-art distribution facility in Birmingham. This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe working environment, delivering training, and driving continuous improvement in health and safety standards.

Description

The EHS Manager will:

  • Implement and monitor statutory safety, fire, and environmental regulations across the site.
  • Oversee risk management strategies and support operational teams to achieve zero accidents.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and RTITB accreditation.
  • Develop and revise safety procedures, reporting on performance and recommending improvements.
  • Investigate incidents and dangerous occurrences, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Deliver training programs, including manual handling and safety passport updates.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and report on quality metrics to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to foster a strong safety culture.

Profile

A successful EHS Manager should have:

  • Minimum 3 year's experience in a Health & Safety role.
  • National NEBOSH Certificate and strong knowledge of EHS management systems.
  • A hands-on and adaptable approach to implementing processes.
  • Proven ability as a self-starter to lead and influence in a fast-paced operational setting.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and warehouse management systems.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites within the UK when required.
  • A background in Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain, or FMCG/Pharmaceuticals.
  • BREEAM accreditation knowledge (desirable).
