Manufacturing and Testing Assistant
Location: Birmingham
Hours: 8:00-16:30, Monday-Friday
Pay Rate: 12.65 per hour
Join our team to help manufacture and test medical devices. You will follow established procedures, maintain equipment, complete documentation, and ensure high-quality production. This role also supports other departments as needed to help meet delivery and quality targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the manufacturing and testing of medical devices
- Maintain, clean, and calibrate equipment
- Accurately complete production records, worksheets, and documentation
- Use the ERP system for tracking work and accessing documents
- Report progress, issues, and delays to the supervisor
- Work collaboratively with the team and help plan daily tasks
- Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures
- Ensure work meets regulatory and company standards
- Perform additional duties as required
What You Need
Essential:
- GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Good communication and time management
Desirable:
- A Levels or a science-related degree
- Lab, production, or GMP experience
- Knowledge of health & safety processes
Personal Qualities
- Friendly, reliable, organised
- Good timekeeping
- Willing to learn and help where needed
- Flexible to do occasional overtime
Work Environment
- Onsite lab/cleanroom
- PPE provided (lab coat, gloves, etc.)
- Long hair must be tied up
- Standard background check required
