I'm working with a long standing client of mine who are looking for a Document Controller for a construction company based in Birmingham. This allows you to put you detail-oriented, organisation and document management skills to the test. They are looking for a skilled Document Controller to join a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all project documentation
  • Control document distribution to project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring version control is maintained.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather and update project information promptly.
  • Monitor document control processes to ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
  • Support audit processes by preparing and providing documentation as required.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of document control systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Track document revisions, deadlines, and approvals, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive documents and data.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience as a Document Controller or in a similar administrative role within construction or engineering industries.
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in document management software (e.g., Aconex, Procore, SharePoint) and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
