This is an exciting opportunity to join my client, a trusted, well-established Multidisciplinary Consultancy renowned for lending their expertise to high-profile residential and commercial projects across the land development and engineering fields. They are actively seeking a capable, enthusiastic Senior Hydrologist/Flood Modeller with extensive knowledge of, and experience with, flood risk, drainage, and/or Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA). You should be willing to take on a diverse array of challenging projects whilst leading an already-established team of design professionals in the bustling, diverse city of Birmingham.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Hydrologist/Flood Modeller include:

  • Managing the preparation, amendment, and submission of technical documents, including tenders, Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Drainage Assessment Reports, calculations, and models
  • Identifying business development opportunities, and proactively working to win new projects for the team
  • Managing client and stakeholder relations, across the public and private sectors
  • Leading people and projects at all stages of the process, from initial inception through to successful delivery, adhering to budgetary, resourcing, and timeframe restrictions
  • Adhering to industry standards, procedures, and guidelines at all times, including strict health and safety regulations
  • Overseeing colleagues' Continuing Professional Development (CPD) within the company

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Hydrologist/Flood Modeller include:

  • A Degree in Hydrology or Civil Engineering (or a similar, relevant discipline)
  • Possess Chartership Status with a recognised, relevant professional body/institute (e.g., CIWEM)
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK-based consultancy or local authority setting
  • Outstanding working knowledge of a range of relevant software packages, such as Flood Modeller, AutoCAD, WinDES, WINFAP, HEC-RAS, FEH, etc.
  • Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Extensive experience of liaising closely with a range of clients and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Hydrologist/Flood Modeller include:

  • A Master's Degree (or higher qualification) in a relevant discipline
  • Excellent proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (to include Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
