EYFS Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting young learners in their crucial early years? Do you have experience working with children with additional needs? We are currently seeking a dedicated and nurturing EYFS Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with Autism in a warm and welcoming school in Kings Norton.

The Role:

You will be working closely with a pupil in Early Years who has Autism, supporting them both inside and outside of the classroom. Your role will include:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 support to help the pupil access and understand core curriculum content and phonics learning
  • Assisting with regulating behaviour and emotions, including supporting the pupil during time out of the classroom when needed
  • Collaborating with the class teacher to plan and adapt learning activities suited to the pupil's needs
  • Delivering learning content in line with the EYFS and KS1 curriculum

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working in a classroom environment, ideally within EYFS or KS1
  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • An understanding of the Early Years curriculum and how to deliver it effectively
  • A caring, calm and patient approach, with a genuine interest in supporting pupils with SEND
  • Previous experience working with children with Autism is highly desirable
