Smart Education is recruiting passionate Level 2 and Level 3 Teaching Assistants to support students aged 11–19 in a specialist SEND school in Birmingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people with additional needs.

The school follows a differentiated National Curriculum, including GCSE pathways, with a strong focus on life skills and communication. Staff work closely to help every student “unleash their limitless potential.”

Role Overview:You’ll support learners with a range of special educational needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)

  • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH)

  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support delivery of engaging, individualised learning

  • Promote student independence and well-being

  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists

  • Support with personal care and emotional regulation

  • Foster a safe, nurturing learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

  • Experience supporting students with ASD, MLD, SEMH, and SLD
