A primary school in South Birmingham B12 is seeking a reliable and experienced School Caretaker to join their team. As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the school premises, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Your new role
Premises Maintenance
- Ensure the school's premises are clean, tidy, and well-maintained.
- Carry out daily checks on the premises, identifying and reporting any issues or defects.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, repairs, and minor adjustments.
Health and Safety
- Assist with ensuring the school's compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Identify and report potential hazards and take steps to mitigate risks.
- Participate in health and safety training and drills.
Security
- Monitor the school's premises, ensuring the security of students, staff, and visitors.
- Respond to security breaches or incidents, following school procedures.
- Control access to the school, including managing keys and access cards.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in a similar role within a school or educational setting.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting and carrying.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality.
