Location: Birmingham
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Start Date: Immediately (flexible for notice periods)

We are hiring for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer who has some experience in a similar role  and can work on commercial and mixed-use projects in the Birmingham region. This is a growing design consultancy project and you will be working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver technically sound and coordinated electrical designs using industry-standard BIM software.

In this role you will be working in the Building Services Design Team to support the delivery of client-led MEP projects. Reporting to the Electrical Associate Director, you will be responsible for:

• Producing electrical designs including lighting, small power, LV distribution, fire alarms, security and data systems.

• Collaborating with mechanical, structural and architectural teams to produce fully coordinated 3D Revit MEP models.

• Carrying out electrical load calculations, fault level analysis and cable sizing using software such as Amtech or Trimble.

• Attending design meetings, site visits and inspections to ensure compliance and progress.

• Preparing technical schedules, specifications and contributing to project documentation for tender and construction.

As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you need experience with:

• Building services electrical design, ideally in commercial or mixed-use developments

• Revit MEP, AutoCAD and Amtech (or similar electrical calculation tools)

It would be beneficial to the Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer role if you also had:

• Knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)

• Experience working to BIM Level 2 standards

• Awareness of CIBSE guidelines and design codes
