Overview
We're working with a national MEP consultancy seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing Birmingham office. The business has its head office in South Birmingham, home to 100+ staff (including 90 MEP engineers split across three specialist teams). Each business unit wins and delivers its own work, with frequent collaboration between teams to share expertise and deliver complex projects.
The Birmingham office is a key part of the consultancy's growth strategy, offering engineers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects locally while being fully supported by the depth and resources of the wider business.
The consultancy delivers sustainable and technically challenging projects across healthcare, education, residential, pharmaceutical, and commercial sectors. Their collaborative model ensures a balance of autonomy in project delivery with the backing of a well-established national team.
Role
As an Electrical Engineer, you'll act as support to the technical lead on a variety of building services projects-taking responsibility for electrical design from concept through to completion. You'll support project delivery across the Birmingham region while collaborating closely with colleagues in Solihull and across other business units.
This is a hands-on role with strong leadership potential, ideal for someone looking to contribute to a growing office, influence project delivery, and progress into more strategic responsibilities.
Requirements
Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (HNC/HND with relevant experience also considered)
3-4+ years' experience in building services electrical design
Skilled in Amtech, Revit, Dialux/Relux, and Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of UK regulations, HV/LV systems, and sustainable technologies
Comfortable working independently as well as in a collaborative team
Professional membership (IET, CIBSE) and progress toward chartership (preferred)
Excellent client-facing and communication skills
