SF Engineering are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client who are a leading Building Services contractor.
The role:
You will be required to lead, manage, engineer the electrical services, assist in the costing, procure and deliver electrical and specialist systems on multiple projects.
You will be reporting directly to the Project Director with responsibilities as detailed below:
Senior Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:
Lead and manage the Electrical building services aspects of projects from concept through completion.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams.
Ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
Health & Safety Leadership:
Champion a culture of safety excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop, support and implement health and safety strategy, policies and procedures.
Design and Analysis:
Support the development and review detailed Electrical designs for HV/LV distribution, Lighting, Small Power, Security, Data, Life Safety Systems, and other specialist life safety systems in buildings.
Budget and Programme Management:
Monitor project budgets and programme, identifying potential risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
Work closely with the project team to optimise resource allocation and project efficiency.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough reviews of Electrical designs to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Provide technical oversight to ensure the quality of deliverables.
Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and manage project risks.
Develop and implement mitigation strategies to ensure risk reduction.
Client Interaction:
Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and expectations.
Present technical solutions and recommendations to clients in a clear and concise manner.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate Electrical systems seamlessly into overall building designs.
Mentor and guide junior engineers in their professional development.
Innovation:
Stay current with industry trends and advancements to incorporate innovative solutions into projects.
Propose and implement improvements to engineering processes and methodologies.
Senior Electrical Engineer Qualifications/Requirements:
- IOSH / SMSTS
- CSCS
Preferable but not essential.
- ONC/HNC/ NVQ L3/L4 Building Services.
- Project Management or Engineering Degree
10+ years of experience in Electrical building services engineering.
Strong understanding of codes, standards, and regulations.
Excellent project management and leadership skills.
Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex engineering projects.
Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Experience working within an airport is preferred, not essential, but must have similar experience working in live operational environments.
