We're recruiting  for a Service Engineer opportunity with a leading CNC machinery specialist, supporting high-accuracy systems powered by advanced measurement and control technologies. The machines you'll be working on feature components developed for demanding positioning tasks, including linear and angle encoders, rotary encoders, and precision CNC controls. These technologies are vital in sectors such as electronics, robotics, medical devices, and high-end machine tools. The role has opened due to succession planning, offering long-term stability and technical development. Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair machine tool control systems with an electrical emphasis.
  • Interrogate systems to diagnose faults and perform methodical fault finding.
  • Remove, test, and replace electrical components while ensuring operational safety.
  • Provide both on-site technical support and remote assistance via a home-based setup.
  • Document service activities through detailed reports on repairs and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate with clients for coordinated problem resolution.
  • Adapt to a varied work schedule across the Midlands with occasional extended travel assignments.

Skills Required

  • Engineering degree preferred or HNC/HND
  • Strong expertise in electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics within machine tool control systems is desirable, but relevant backgrounds will be considered.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve complex faults using advanced diagnostic tools, including PLC and Ethernet interfaces.
  • Excellent independent problem-solving skills with a logical, systematic approach.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for both technical support and client interactions.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to work remotely in a well-equipped home environment.
  • Solid understanding of industry health and safety standards within an engineering context.
  • Openness to continuous professional development, including additional training and international opportunities. (2-3 weeks per calendar year in Germany for training).
  • Valid driving license, the right to work in the UK and a passport
