Job Title: Senior Project Engineer

Salary: up to 92,000 per annum

Location: Birmingham, Hybrid

Job Purpose

To provide technical leadership and assurance within an Integrated Project Team, ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of asset design and construction in line with contractual, regulatory and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead risk-based technical assurance, reviewing and approving engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure design and construction meet standards, regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Act as NEC3 Supervisor and Principal Designer (CDM 2015) Representative.
  • Communicate engineering requirements to contractors and delivery partners.
  • Provide technical guidance, promote best practice, and drive consistent design solutions.
  • Support engineering risk identification, mitigation, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with project, commercial, environmental, and systems teams to manage change, cost, and programme impacts.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces across contracts and disciplines.

Experience Needed:

  • Proven technical leadership and problem-solving in multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of UK construction regulations,
  • CDM 2015, and commercial implications.
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience preferred.

Decision Making

  • Approve technical deliverables and confirm compliance.
  • Identify defects and confirm construction compliance.
  • Assess technical impacts of change within authority.
  • Represent the organisation independently with contractors.
