Ivy Resource Group are currently looking to hire a Yard Manager to join one our clients on a permanent basis in Birmingham.
The company:
Our client is an industry leader in the design, construction, refurbishment and creation of specialist roofing and surfacing solutions for homes, public and private sector clients.
The role entails:
Resource Management - Organising the resources in the yard including equipment, machinery and tools.
Logistics and Inventory Control - Organising incoming materials, tracking inventory levels and coordinating deliveries and pickups
Equipment maintenance - Scheduling routine maintenance and keeping records up to date
Team Management - Overseeing the yard staff, assigning tasks and providing support
Safety & Compliance - Conducting safety inspections and providing training to yard personnel
Communication - Between different teams such as Contracts Managers, suppliers etc
Manufacturer and Supplier Management - Maintaining relationships with manufacturers and suppliers, negotiating contracts and arranging deliveries
Yard Presentation - responsible for the upkeep and organisation of the yard
Essential requirements:
Yard Manager experience
Basic management skills
Being able to do physical work and also experienced in office based jobs (admin,paperwork)
Full UK Driving licence
Preferable requirements:
SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS, Forklift ticket- all preferable but not essential as the company will train you if need be.
What are we looking for?
Someone with the ability to identify and evaluate malfunctioning equipment and recommend corrective measures or repair.
Previous experience Managing/Supervising a Yard preferred.
Knowledge of basic Microsoft Software I.E Word, Excel, Outlook.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to facilitate high-level conversations and projects.
Basic management skills.

35,000 - 38,000 per annum based on experience
