ROLE: Yard Manager
SALARY: £35,000£38,000
LOCATION: Birmingham (yard-based with occasional site coordination)

THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing or supervising a busy yard, preferably within construction or a similar industry.
A full drivers licence is essential, and a forklift certification is preferred.
Strong organisational skills, basic IT literacy, and the ability to effectively manage a team and resources are crucial for success in this role.
DUTIES:
- ResourceManagement: Organise and maintain equipment, machinery, tools, and materials to support site operations.
- Logistics & Inventory: Receive and track incoming materials, coordinate pickups/deliveries, and manage stock levels.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee servicing, repairs, and maintenance schedules, including documentation.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety policies, conduct inspections, and ensure all yard activity meets health and safety standards.
- Team Management: Lead and support yard staff, handle scheduling, and monitor performance.
- Supplier Liaison: Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers for timely equipment and material support.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation for inventory, equipment logs, safety records, and maintenance reports.
- Yard Presentation: Ensure the yard is clean, organised, and secure at all times.
- Process Improvement: Review and suggest improvements to yard procedures and efficiency.
- Consumables & PPE: Manage stock of PPE and consumables and coordinate necessary orders.
- Guest Facilitation: Ensure all visitors are briefed on and adhere to site health and safety rules.
- Additional Duties: Handle or delegate other reasonable tasks to support operational needs.
