Trinity House Group are working with a dynamic and rapidly expanding financial services organisation based in the West Midlands, with ambitious growth plans aimed at reshaping the credit landscape. Their mission is to provide innovative credit solutions while maintaining robust risk management practices. As they scale, this organisation are seeking a seasoned Chief Credit Risk Officer (CCRO) to lead our credit risk function, ensuring sustainable growth and regulatory compliance.

The Role

As the Chief Credit Risk Officer, you will be a key member of our executive team, responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive credit risk management framework. Your leadership will be pivotal in guiding our credit strategies, policies, and practices, aligning them with our business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Credit Risk Strategy: Develop and execute a forward-looking credit risk strategy that supports our growth ambitions while maintaining risk appetite thresholds.
  • Policy Development: Establish and regularly update credit risk policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the credit portfolio, monitoring performance, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risk.
  • Risk Assessment: Lead the assessment of credit exposures, including the evaluation of new products, services, and markets.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements, including reporting and capital adequacy standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and the board of directors, to communicate risk positions and strategies.
  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing credit risk team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

About You

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in credit risk management within the financial services sector, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement credit risk frameworks and policies.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to credit risk.
  • Proven track record in managing credit portfolios and mitigating risk exposures.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities, capable of influencing at all organizational levels.
  • Relevant professional qualifications are advantageous.
