Salary: Up to £55,000 + discretionary bonus

Location: Birmingham - Hybrid (Initially 3 days in office)

PURPOSE OF ROLE 

We are excited to partner with a leading insurance broker to help them find their Corporate Account Manager. This role sits within the recently restructured commercial team, focused on managing a high-value corporate client base. You will retain and grow corporate accounts, delivering tailored insurance solutions across multiple lines (cross-class commercial). The ideal candidate will be looking to step into a leadership position, supporting the team while still owning key client relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate clients, typically £100k+ in premium size
  • Handle 1-2 large-scale renewals per month, with a strong focus on service delivery
  • Act as the lead client contact, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and up-sell opportunities
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to junior team members
  • Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, team meetings, and management reporting
  • Support in developing strategies for client growth and team performance
  • Collaborate across underwriting, claims, and internal teams to ensure tailored solutions
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations and internal governance policies
  • Actively use Acturis for all documentation, client records, and workflow management

EXPERIENCE 

  • 5-10 years of experience within the corporate insurance market
  • Experience working with commercial clients (Mid-Corp or Corporate) with a desire to step into leadership
  • Proven success in managing clients with premiums of £50k+, ideally £100k+
  • Familiarity with cross-class commercial lines
  • Exposure to team mentoring or management responsibilities is a plus
  • Strong understanding of the insurance renewal lifecycle and regulatory environment

DAY-TO-DAY 

  • Manage ongoing relationships with a focused number of high-value clients
  • Handle 1-2 complex renewals per month, ensuring timelines and expectations are met
  • Liaise daily with internal stakeholders using Acturis to process tasks and track progress
  • Lead and support junior staff, including one-to-ones and progress reviews
  • Prepare and present performance reports to management
  • Participate in team strategy sessions and help shape internal best practices
  • Ensure client data is kept accurate and updated in CRM systems
  • Contribute to the evolving team culture following recent internal restructuring

SKILLS 

  • Strong relationship management and communication skills
  • Leadership capability or aspirations to move into a team leader role
  • Commercially astute with the ability to identify client needs and growth areas
  • Organised and detail-oriented, especially under renewal pressures
  • Confident using Acturis or similar broking/insurance platforms
  • Skilled at balancing individual delivery with team contribution
  • Able to handle complexity and navigate change following organisational restructure
