Credit Manager (Professional Services)Location: Central Birmingham (Hybrid), with occasional travel to national sites
A leading professional services firm is seeking a highly experienced and driven Credit Manager to join its established finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to play a key leadership role in managing a multi-location credit control function within a complex, client-focused environment.
About the RoleReporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Credit Manager will be responsible for overseeing the firm's UK and international credit and cash collection operations. You will lead a geographically dispersed team, ensuring robust credit risk management, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the continuous improvement of credit control processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee credit management and cash collection across domestic and international accounts.
- Manage credit risk assessment and onboarding processes for new clients.
- Develop and implement credit policies to mitigate risk and improve cash flow.
- Lead and mentor a team across multiple UK and international locations.
- Act as the key liaison between the credit function and internal stakeholders including senior leadership and relationship managers.
- Deliver insightful reporting and risk analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
- Support the implementation of a new financial system and contribute to other credit-related projects.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in a credit management role, ideally within a professional services setting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a multi-site team.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge senior professionals constructively.
- Sound understanding of credit risk, collections, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in credit systems (e.g., MS Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience of e-billing processes and managing international accounts is desirable.
