Personal Tax Assistant Manager - BirminghamSalary: £40,000 - £50,000 DOE + Bonus + Excellent BenefitsType: Permanent | Hybrid Working (2-3 days WFH) The Opportunity:An award-winning professional services group, ranked nationally within the top advisory firms, is looking to appoint a Personal Tax Assistant Manager to its thriving Birmingham office. With a modern, client-focused approach and a strong regional presence, the firm is known for its collaborative culture, excellent work-life balance, and commitment to long-term career progression. The Role:You'll play a central role in the personal tax team, managing a portfolio of diverse private clients and providing high-quality compliance services. You'll also contribute to advisory projects across inheritance tax, capital gains, trust structuring, and estate planning, working closely with Partners and Directors. Client exposure is broad and includes high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, family businesses, landed estates, trusts, and professional partnerships. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring timely and accurate tax return submissions
  • Provide ad hoc tax planning and advisory support throughout the tax yearLiaise with clients, HMRC, and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and support ongoing relationships
  • Mentor and review the work of junior team members
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and team development
  • Identify planning opportunities and support wider business development initiatives

What You'll Need:

  • Proven experience in UK personal tax compliance
  • CTA, ATT, ACA or ACCA qualifiedSome exposure to tax planning (CGT, IHT, trusts)
  • Confident in managing client relationships and overseeing workflows
  • Motivated, organised, and keen to take the next step in your tax career
