Freight Forwarding Specialist (Full-Time)Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PMSalary: Up to £25,000 per annum

People Solutions are pleased to be supporting their client, a fast-growing multicultural logistics provider specialising in European Roadfreight, with their recruitment, of a key memeber of the team - Freight Forwarding Specialist.

Day-to-Day Duties:
  • Plan and coordinate shipments between the EU and UK

  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and service providers

  • Handle all documentation and customs processes

  • Arrange customs clearance using CargoWiseONE

  • Maintain and update job files accurately in the system

  • Provide accurate quotations using platforms such as TimoCom, Trans.eu, and email

  • Negotiate rates and agree terms with stakeholders

  • Accrue and allocate supplier invoices

  • Upload and manage documents for all jobs

  • Support colleagues and cover absences when required

  • Communicate updates and provide information to admin and management

Essential Skills:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in freight forwarding or logistics

  • Fluency in at least one foreign language

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Confident negotiating and coordinating with stakeholders

Desirable Skills:
  • Experience using CargoWiseONE

  • Familiarity with freight platforms like TimoCom and Trans.eu

  • Understanding of customs procedures

  • Additional languages are a bonus

  • Commercial awareness and customer service experience

Training:
  • On-the-job training provided
