JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you a Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner looking for your next locum opportunity in Birmingham? We have a fantastic position available within a specialist Eating Disorders Team, offering excellent pay and flexibility.

What You'll Be Doing:

You'll be joining a specialist CAMHS Eating Disorders Team, supporting children and young people with moderate to severe eating disorders. In this rewarding role, you will:

  • Undertake specialist assessments for children and adolescents with eating disorders, including AN, BN, ARFID, and OSFED

  • Deliver evidence-based interventions, including CBT-E, MANTRA, and family-based therapy (FT-AN)

  • Monitor physical and psychological risk and contribute to multi-agency safety planning

  • Work closely with families and carers to promote recovery and engagement in treatment

  • Collaborate with dietitians, paediatricians, psychiatrists, and other team members within the MDT

  • Provide clinical input in reviews, care planning, and school reintegration where appropriate

  • Maintain clear, timely and accurate documentation in line with Trust and professional standards

Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current and valid NMC, HCPC or Social Work England registration

  • Experience working in a CAMHS setting, ideally with an Eating Disorders caseload

  • Strong clinical assessment, formulation, and risk management skills

  • Familiarity with NICE guidelines and evidence-based treatments for eating disorders

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage young people and their families

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This role requires availability from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The initial contract is for 3 months, with strong potential for extension depending on service needs.
