ER Specialist
Rate: £21.00 – £24.00 per hour PAYE
Duration: 3 months
Location: Birmingham (London or Salford considered with travel to Birmingham)
Hybrid: 5 days onsite for first 2 weeks, then 1–2 days per week
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm (35 hours)
Role Purpose
- Deliver specialist Employee Relations advice and process support across the workforce within a shared services environment. Provide clear guidance to managers using policy, process and data, managing cases through the ER case management system.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on ER cases including grievance, disciplinary, absence, probation and performance
- Manage high-volume caseloads (40–50 cases), including backlog clearance
- Resolve complex and escalated ER issues in line with SLAs
- Use and maintain ER systems in line with data protection requirements
- Analyse ER data to provide insight, recommendations and service improvements
- Support ongoing ER activity and projects across the service centre
Essential Experience
- Strong ER advisory experience across core ER case types
- Confident user of ER case management systems
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
