Company Summary: A world-renowned Rolling Stock vehicle company and is the one of the top providers of rail solutions in the world.
Position Summary: You will be responsible for carrying out routine Examination on rolling stock units and reporting any defects or faults that you find. You will be expected to carry out rudimentary fault finding a rectification during the exam process and report any major issues to your team leader. Ensure a safe and efficient workspace by adhering to company and health and safety policies.
Key responsibilities:
* Perform exams on units including but not limited to:
o Startup tests
o Break tests
o Testing lighting (internal and external)
o Battery examination
o Test fire systems and alarms
o Coupler inspection
* Perform basic fault finding and rectification
* Reporting major faults to team leader
* Fill out and complete reports
Ideal Candidate: A diligent professional able to work well as an individual or in a team. Rolling Stock experience required:
* History of completing safety critical work
* NVQ level 3 in Electrical Engineering (desirable but not required.)
* Ability to undertake detailed fault finding and analysis by reading and following electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings
* Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical Principles
* Computer literate and experience of using a maintenance management system for work recording
