We are now seeking a Production Days Manager to join our Birmingham site—a key role ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, exceptional service delivery, and strong team leadership across the production function.

The Role

As Production Days Manager, you’ll be part of a close-knit engineering and operational team responsible for ensuring the seamless running of our production department. You will lead, support and develop staff, maintain production efficiency, ensure robust training and compliance, and uphold the highest standards of health & safety and product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Senior Managers in the daily running of the production department.

  • Ensure all production areas are fully staffed, resourced, and performing to operational targets.

  • Manage staff probations and conduct performance reviews.

  • Own all aspects of staff training, including on-the-job and Health & Safety training.

  • Promote and enforce strict Health & Safety compliance, including PPE oversight.

  • Ensure timely, high-quality output to maintain strong customer service standards.

  • Mentor and develop production staff, identifying training needs and growth opportunities.

  • Foster a strong culture of teamwork across all departments and shifts.

  • Maintain clear communication across operations and senior management.

  • Collaborate with loading teams to manage stock variations.

  • Manage all welfare-related aspects of production staff within legislative guidelines.

  • Oversee holiday scheduling, attendance, and productivity monitoring.

  • Carry out weekly linen and stock checks, ensuring accurate reporting.

  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards, ensuring the factory is tidy at shift start/end.

  • Uphold confidentiality around HR, financial, and company-sensitive information.

  • Maximise product quality, ensuring correct classification of creased, stained, and rag items.

  • Ensure consistent and effective staff training delivery.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in Production Management

  • Strong leadership capability and experience managing teams

  • Manufacturing or industrial background

  • Ability to problem-solve, motivate teams, and maintain high operational standards

  • Strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety requirements
