Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Roofing Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial roofing projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of roofing systems and materials, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities

Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine project scope.

Conduct site visits and roof inspections to gather accurate measurements and assess conditions.

Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.

Source and negotiate material prices from suppliers to ensure competitive costings.

Prepare and submit quotations, tenders, and proposals within required deadlines.

Collaborate with project managers and sales teams to align estimates with client requirements and budgets.

Identify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and alternative roofing solutions.

Maintain accurate records of all estimates, proposals, and pricing databases.

Stay up to date with industry trends, building codes, and roofing technologies.
Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience as an Estimator, ideally within roofing or construction.

Strong understanding of roofing systems (flat, pitched, metal, tile, slate, single-ply, etc.).

Proficiency with estimation software, spreadsheets, and measurement tools.

Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Full driving license (site visits may be required).
Education & Experience

Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in construction estimating (roofing preferred).

HND/Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (desirable but not essential).

Knowledge of local building regulations and health & safety standards.
