Solar PV Project Manager

The Solar PV Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of solar PV projects.

This role requires strong project management skills and an in-depth understanding of solar PV systems and facilities management.

Looking to add a Solar PV Project Manager to their Midlands Business Unit.

Description

• Lead the full lifecycle of commercial and domestic Solar PV and BESS projects, from design and specification through to commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure technical accuracy and financial objectives are achieved.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, BS 7671 standards, and health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Prepare and present detailed progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones and risk management strategies.
• Supervise on-site activities, including subcontractor performance and quality control during installation and commissioning phases.
• Identify and mitigate project risks proactively, maintaining robust risk management processes.
• Oversee technical handovers from sales/design, ensuring smooth transition into execution and adherence to internal and external standards.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact throughout project delivery.
• Validate and commission systems, including inverter/BESS setup, AC/DC test result analysis, and integration with BMS and G100 compliance.

Profile

A successful Solar PV Project Manager should have:

• A solid understanding of solar PV systems.
• 17th/18th Edition (BS 7671:2018)
• SMSTS or SSSTS & CSCS/ECS Card
• AC/DC test result analysis, inverter/BESS setup, commissioning, and BMS integration
• Proven experience in managing industrial or manufacturing projects.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within set timelines.
