We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated GCSE English Lecturer to join a dynamic team at one of the largest colleges in Birmingham. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students aged 16+, helping them achieve their full potential in English Language and/or Literature at GCSE level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging GCSE English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and track progress.
  • Support students in developing literacy, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students, fostering a positive learning environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent).
  • A degree in English or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching GCSE English in a further education or secondary setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the GCSE English curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and student success.
