Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in the B36 area. This role will involve providing vital support to students with a range of special educational needs and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, helping them to engage with learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for students with SEND and SEMH needs

  • Work alongside teachers and SENCOs to deliver targeted interventions

  • Assist with classroom management and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment

  • Help students to develop social skills, resilience, and independence

  • Monitor and report on student progress and support needs

Required Experience

  • Experience supporting students with SEND and SEMH needs is highly desirable

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience working in a school setting

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and behaviour management skills

  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting young people
