SEND Teaching Assistant - Selly Oak, Birmingham

Monarch Education are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work full time in a mainstream school in the Selly Oak area of Birmingham. This role is starting ASAP Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm and ongoing until July 2026. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with Autism, ADHD and Behavioural needs. Requirements of applicant:

  • You must be experienced working with children who has Autistic, ADHD and Behavioural needs
  • Ideally you would hold a Level 3 Qualification in Childcare, Education or SEND
  • Strong understanding of SEND needs and strategies
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with staff and parents

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils across the school with Autism, ADHD and Behavioural Needs
  • Assisting in implementing Individualised Education Plans and tailored learning strategies
  • Support pupils in classroom activities and encourage positive social interactions
  • Manage challenging behaviour with appropriate strategies and techniques
  • Help pupils with personal care and daily routines as needed
  • Work closely with teachers and parents to monitor pupil progress and adjust support where necessary
