Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant ready to step up? A welcoming, forward-thinking primary school in Aston is seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their inclusion team. This long-term opportunity is ideal for someone confident in supporting pupils with complex needs such as Autism, non-verbal communication, and Social, Emotional & Mental Health difficulties.

This is a hands-on role where you'll not only support pupils directly, but also provide guidance to other support staff, help coordinate provision, and liaise closely with the SENCO and external agencies. For the right candidate, there is potential for this opportunity to become a permanent position.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASC, NV, and SEMH
  • Implement behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • Use tools like PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables
  • Assist with planning and delivering interventions
  • Support and mentor other TAs and contribute to inclusion planning
  • Liaise with teachers, SENCO and external professionals


You'll need:

  • Solid experience supporting SEND in a primary or specialist setting
  • Confidence with complex needs including ASC, NV and SEMH
  • Strong behaviour management and calm communication
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education
