Pay rate: £95.00 per day

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

 

Smart Education is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in the Birmingham area, supporting pupils aged 11–19 years with a range of additional needs including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Job requirements:
• Previous experience of working with children or young people (SEN experience desirable)
• A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)

 

Role responsibilities:
• Providing support to pupils aged 11–19 with a variety of special educational needs
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom organisation
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning
• Delivering 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
