Smart Education is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 9–16 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role involves working in a specialist setting where pupils may present with challenging behaviour and additional needs that impact on their ability to access learning.

Job requirements:
• Previous experience of working with children or young people (experience with SEMH desirable)
• Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach
• Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively
• An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)

 

Role responsibilities:
• Supporting pupils aged 9–16 years with SEMH needs
• Working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons
• Building positive relationships to encourage progress and wellbeing
• Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupils’ individual needs
