NPI Engineer

 

Were looking for an NPI Engineer to lead investigations into product performance and drive validation of advanced valve and hydraulic systems, primarily for defence and marine sectors.

 

NPI Engineer Key Responsibilities:

  • As an NPI Engineer, you will lead product performance investigations and maintain accurate, auditable data records.
  • Develop optimized build plans and lead validation of military-grade products.
  • Source and review testing equipment and support new product introductions.
  • Identify new technologies to drive product and technology roadmaps.
  • Interpret customer specifications and design compliant valve solutions using relevant standards (Def Stan, BS, ISO).
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, design calculations, and 2D/3D models (SolidWorks, DraftSight).
  • Lead small teams, resolve production issues, and engage directly with customers and suppliers.
  • Support global localisation and growth initiatives.
  • Take ownership of critical projects

 

NPI Engineer required Experience:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in valve and hydraulic system design, ideally in oil & gas, naval marine, or defence.
  • Professional body membership (IMechE or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of valve types, actuators, materials, and marine-specific challenges.
  • Skilled in SolidWorks, DraftSight, and engineering calculations (Mathcad a plus).
  • Confident presenter with experience leading design reviews and customer meetings.
  • Familiar with industrial and defence standards, Lean, and APQP processes.
