Data Centre and Cloud Services Manager

Full Time / Permanent

80,000 - 85,000 + car allowance + bonus + extensive benefits

The Role

I am looking for an experienced Data Centre and Cloud Services Manager to join a large global brand head quartered in the West Midlands.

This is a hybrid role with the successful candidate required to be on site 1 day per week on average on the Birmingham office. There will also be monthly travel to sites in Europe so candidates must be willing to travel where required.

The Data Centre and Cloud Services Manager will be responsible for monitoring and managing the smooth delivery and operations of all vendors and services provided by Data Centre and Cloud teams. You will oversee the deployment and maintenance of new infrastructure, ensuring security and compliance, and optimising performance and cost-efficiency.

The Data Centre & Cloud Manager plays a critical role in improving the reliability and resiliency of data centre and cloud services, reducing the number of incidents, and enhancing vendor relations. This is a management level position that requires strong technical knowledge, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage a team and processes effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the smooth delivery and operations of all vendors and services provided by the team.
  • Act as the leadership and point of escalation for the team.
  • Oversee the deployment and maintenance of data centre and cloud infrastructure, ensuring it meets business needs.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of data centre and cloud services, adhering to industry standards and regulations such as NIST.
  • Optimise the performance and cost-efficiency of data centre and cloud services.
  • Improve the reliability and resiliency of data centre and cloud services, reducing the number of P1/2 incidents.
  • Foster improved vendor relations, ensuring effective collaboration and service delivery.
  • Manage cloud environments, ensuring they are secure, compliant, and optimized for performance.
  • Collaborate with IT Leadership and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for data centre and cloud initiatives.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in data centre and cloud, incorporating relevant advancements into the organisation's strategy.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience operating as a senior IT manager within a large enterprise level organisation.
  • Strong technical acumen with extensive experience of data centre and cloud technologies (preferably Azure).
  • Strong vendor management skills, with experience managing third-party relationships.
  • Proven technical project management experience preferably with experience in cloud migration.
  • Strong people manager, mentor and coach capable of managing a medium sized European team.
  • Must be willing to travel throughout Europe on a monthly basis.
