Job PurposeThe ICT Technician will play a key role in maintaining the school’s ICT infrastructure, providing technical support to staff and students, and ensuring the smooth operation of all ICT systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide first-line technical support to staff and students, resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain ICT hardware (PCs, laptops, printers, interactive whiteboards, etc.).
- Support the management of the school’s network infrastructure, including servers, switches, and wireless systems.
- Maintain and update software applications and operating systems.
- Monitor and maintain the school’s ICT asset inventory.
- Assist with the setup and support of AV equipment for school events and lessons.
- Ensure data security and support regular backups in line with school policies.
- Liaise with external ICT support providers and suppliers as required.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s ICT strategy.
Essential:
- Relevant ICT qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Good understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
- Experience working in an educational environment.
- Knowledge of SIMS or other school management systems.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 for Education.
