Job Title: Town Planner
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are working exclusively with a respected private planning consultancy based in Birmingham, known for delivering high-quality planning advice across a wide range of projects in the residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors. With a strong project pipeline and continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an ambitious Town Planner to join their team.
The Role:
As Town Planner, you'll play a key role in delivering expert planning services to a diverse client base. You'll be involved in a broad range of planning work, from site appraisals and policy analysis to preparing and managing planning applications. The consultancy offers a collaborative environment with excellent mentoring, career progression, and flexible working.
Key Responsibilities:
·Preparing and managing planning applications, appeals and supporting documents
·Conducting site assessments and delivering strategic planning advice
·Liaising with clients, local authorities, and consultants
·Contributing to reports, planning statements and representations
·Supporting senior colleagues on larger, complex projects
·Representing clients at meetings, public consultations, and planning committees
About You:
·Degree in Town Planning or related discipline (RTPI accredited)
·MRTPI status or working towards chartership
·1-3 years' experience in a town planning role (private or public sector)
·Strong understanding of the UK planning system
·Excellent communication and report-writing skills
