Our client is a multidisciplinary consultancy with 14 offices across the UK. Their work spans planning, design, land, and property, providing expert guidance from project inception through to delivery. They are currently looking for a Director-level Landscape Architect with a specialist focus on Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA). This leadership role will involve shaping and growing the LVIA offering across the business, overseeing the delivery of high-profile and complex projects, and supporting the continued development of a successful national team. You’ll work at a senior level with multidisciplinary teams and clients across the residential, infrastructure, and commercial sectors, ensuring both visual and environmental quality standards are met and exceeded.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and expand the LVIA discipline nationally, including business development and strategic planning
  • Oversee and sign off LVIA reports, technical content, and visual outputs
  • Provide expert-level advice to clients, local authorities, and project stakeholders
  • Represent the practice at public inquiries, hearings, and design review panels
  • Drive innovation and best practice in LVIA methodologies across the team
  • Manage and mentor senior, mid-level, and junior landscape professionals
  • Lead on fee proposals, resource planning, and project direction
  • Contribute to cross-disciplinary collaboration and high-level project decision-making
  • Strengthen client relationships and identify new business opportunities

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture (CMLI essential)
  • Extensive experience delivering and overseeing LVIA at a senior or director level
  • Strong track record in winning work and expanding service offerings
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Advanced proficiency in relevant software including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS
  • Deep understanding of planning policy, environmental legislation, and infrastructure processes
  • Experience representing organisations at hearings or public consultations
