Transport & Warehouse ManagerBirminghamPermanent | Monday to Friday | 07:00 - 16:00 (flexible)£45,000 - £50,000 per annumAn established logistics and distribution business based in Birmingham is currently seeking an experienced Transport & Warehouse Manager to oversee and coordinate the day-to-day logistics and warehousing operations. This is a key leadership role within a fast-paced, cross-dock and pallet network environment, where attention to detail, a proactive approach, and strong people management skills are essential.The Role:Reporting directly to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of transport planning, warehouse operations, drivers, and workshop teams. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods, meeting service levels, and driving operational performance across the site.Your key responsibilities will include:" Overseeing the daily operations of transport, warehouse, and workshop teams to ensure productivity, safety, and service excellence." Leading, coaching, and developing staff to deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience." Managing transport planning to ensure all collections and deliveries are executed efficiently, with an emphasis on vehicle utilisation and cost control." Ensuring all fleet maintenance and compliance issues are addressed in a timely manner in collaboration with the workshop team." Monitoring performance against service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), taking action to ensure continuous improvement." Maintaining high standards of compliance, health & safety, and operational discipline across all areas of responsibility." Using data analysis to identify trends, address inefficiencies, and implement improvement strategies.Requirements:" Proven experience in a similar Transport or Logistics Manager role, ideally within a cross-dock or pallet network environment." Possession of a National (or higher) CPC in Transport Management." Strong leadership capabilities, with experience managing diverse teams across transport, warehouse, and workshop functions." A proactive mindset with the ability to drive change, motivate staff, and influence positive behaviour." A strong commitment to health & safety standards and regulatory compliance." Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills, with a keen eye for continuous improvement opportunities."
