A global engineering group has a new vacancy for an Engineering Manager to join one of its major manufacturing plants and has selected Vectis Recruitment to manage the recruitment. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for site engineering and candidates are sought with proven experience in a Senior Engineering leadership role within a large complex manufacturing environment.

The Role

Lead, develop, and mentor the site engineering team.

Take responsibility for plant machinery reliability & site infrastructure.

Manage the engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with business and operational goals.

Drive asset reliability, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Manage capital projects from concept through to commissioning & deliver site investment plans.

Ensure all engineering assets are maintained to the highest standards using planned and predictive maintenance strategies.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure a right first-time ethos.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory standards.

Control engineering budgets, spares, and contractor performance

Ensure all projects are delivered safely on time and within budget.

Act as a key leader within the business and contribute to the development of the site business strategies.

The Person

Degree qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, etc) or demonstratable experience.

Proven experience in an Engineering Manager or Senior Engineering leadership role within a large complex manufacturing environment (preferably heavy engineering).

Strong people leadership skills with a track record of building high-performing teams. Experience managing complex plant, automation, or high-volume production assets.

Sound knowledge of maintenance strategies & CI methodologies.

Commercially aware, with experience managing budgets and delivering cost savings.
