Job Title: Operations Manager - FMCG

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday: 8am - 4pm (occasional weekends/night shift overseeing as required so must be flexible) 

Salary: Competitive -  £55,000 per annum

Day-to-Day Duties

  • Report directly to the Development Director and act as the second in command on site with full autonomy over operations
  • Oversee and manage daily operations to ensure efficiency and productivity
  • Lead and support operational teams to meet company objectives
  • Monitor and improve operational processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations
  • Manage inventory, logistics, and supply chain activities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement business strategies
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are strictly followed
  • Analyse operational data and prepare reports to support decision-making
  • Manage staff performance, training, and development
  • Resolve operational challenges and implement effective solutions

Essential Skills

  • Experience in the food manufacturing or Food distribution, Wholesale or Catering industry
  • Proven experience in an operations management role
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach
  • Proficiency in using operational management software and Microsoft Office Suite

Desirable Skills

  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge
  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
