Were looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop flow control products such as valves, actuators, and manifolds for Defence applications. Youll work from customer requirements through to design, testing, and production, collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

• Design components for challenging environments, considering pressure, temperature, and fluid compatibility.
• Produce 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks, applying BS8888 and GD&T.
• Run calculations, create test plans, and validate designs through FEA, CFD, and physical testing.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless product development and delivery.
• Support troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and customer interaction.

Mechanical Design Engineer Experience:

• Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering.
• 10 years experience, ideally with valves, hydraulics, or fluid systems.
• Strong skills in design, materials selection, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with APQP, FMEA, 8D, and other quality/process tools.
• Confident communicator, able to work across teams and with customers.
