Due to continued growth Next Generation are recruiting for a Tool Maker to work with a well-established Tier one company based near Sparkbrook. As the Tool Maker you will be responsible for providing planned maintenance on press tooling.
Shift pattern for the Toolmaker:
- Monday - Thursday (22:00 pm – 06:00 am)
- Friday (17:00pm – 10:30pm)

Duties of the Tool Maker:
- Reading engineering drawings to be able to confidently and competently manufacture press tooling components
- To conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet the specifications; make adjustments as necessary.
- Set up and operate conventional and CNC machines
- Be able to measure finished parts to specifications, using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometres, and dial indicators.
- Repair and maintain press tools, die repairs
- Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve at the press with
- minimal downtime to aid production
- Undertake special projects as required
- Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
- Prepared to work a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required to meet business needs.
- Any other duties as reasonably required by the company
The successful candidate for the Tool Makers position will have the following experience:
- Apprentice trained (Desirable)
- 3 – 5 years experience as a Toolmaker (Essential)
- Overhead crane license however training will be provided (Desirable)
- Basic understanding of drawings (Essential)
