An established, forward-thinking engineering consultancy is seeking a talented Principal Structural Engineer to join its growing Birmingham office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer ready to take on greater responsibility and progress towards Associate level.
The successful candidate will play a key role in both project delivery and business development, supporting senior leadership in client engagement, attending networking events, and gradually taking ownership of key relationships. This position is ideal for someone looking to step into a leadership role with structured support and real influence over the direction of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project delivery across a range of structural schemes
- Support business development and attend client-facing events
- Represent the business in design team meetings and site visits
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth
- Work across a mix of sectors, including defence, higher education, and industrial projects
Ideal Candidate:
- Chartered or near-chartered Structural Engineer
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Ambitious and ready to work towards Associate level
- Eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance due to project requirements
The team works with some high profile clients, and projects typically range over 10M and are delivered on fast-track programmes, offering a varied workload across design, survey and site-based activities.
