  • The role requires a strong background in electronics fault-finding, ideally to component level, along with excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Candidates should have hands-on experience with test equipment and a proactive, problem-solving mindset, as well as a willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally internationally.
  • The salary for this position is competitive, though specific figures are not mentioned in the job description.
  • A minimum of several years of relevant experience in the field is required to be considered for this role.

Are you the kind of engineer who enjoys solving problems no one else can?
If fault-finding to component level sounds more like fun than frustration, this could be your next move.

This is your chance to join a globally respected name in scientific instrumentation — a company known for precision, reliability, and the kind of technology that keeps research labs and universities running. You’ll be joining an experienced and supportive service team, helping customers keep complex systems performing at their best.

It’s a technically challenging, hands-on role — but one where you’ll be trained properly, with formal product training in the UK and potentially at the company’s advanced facility in Japan.

What You Will Do

  • Act as the primary contact for customers, providing on-site support and technical expertise
  • Diagnose and repair advanced electronic systems, down to component level
  • Install and commission new instrumentation at customer sites
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics with accuracy
  • Carry out planned maintenance and performance checks
  • Provide advice and training to end users on system operation and upkeep
  • Travel across the UK, with occasional international trips for training or specialist support

What You Will Bring

  • A strong background in electronics fault-finding (ideally to component level)
  • Confidence reading circuit diagrams and technical documentation
  • Solid hands-on experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and willingness to travel
  • A genuine curiosity about how complex systems work and how to make them better

Why Join

You’ll be part of a highly regarded, long-established team that values expertise over ego. There’s structure and training where it matters, but enough autonomy to do your job properly.
If you’re looking for long-term stability, real technical depth, and a company that invests in your growth, this is it.
