Castlefield Recruitment are currently recruiting an Interim Director of Service - Communications to join a Local Government organisation on an interim basis. The role is hybrid and you would be required to lead the communications directorate, providing strategic oversight and direction for the function.

The Role:

  • Lead on strategic communication activity to support organisational goals.

  • Oversee all communications activity for the organisation, including both external and internal communications.

  • Manage a team of communications professionals, maintaining an effective and cohesive department.

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide counsel to the Chief Executive and Mayor on all aspects of communications, with respect to protecting the organisation's reputation.

The Person:

  • Previous experience within the Public Sector, specifically in a leadership / senior capacity.

  • Knowledge of the current landscape with regards to LGR (Local Government Reforms)

  • Extensive background in communications, covering both internal and external communications, and public affairs.
