Are you an experienced Special Needs Teacher seeking a new position? Tradewind Recruitment are working with a boy's special school situated in Birmingham, who are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH). The school supports KS1, KS2 and KS3 pupils who all have Special Educational Needs or an Education Health Care Plan.

The school are looking for a classroom teacher on a full-time basis to start from after the May half term until the end of the academic year. Planning is involved in this role.

The successful candidate will:

  • be a highly skilled classroom teacher who is enthusiastic and motivated to help students develop and reach their full potential
  • have some experience of supporting and teaching pupils with SEMH needs in a specialist or mainstream setting
  • be able to work collaboratively with support staff and senior leaders in order to plan and deliver high quality educational provision for young people
  • be empathetic to the complex needs of the pupils and also resilient to challenge; understanding that at times the pupils can display challenging behaviours which are a result of their special needs
  • hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
