A well-established specialist SEN school in West Birmingham, supporting learners with a wide range of complex needs, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Qualified SENCO to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled SENCO professional who is committed to inclusive practice but is looking for a role that offers flexibility alongside meaningful impact.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the school's SEN provision in line with statutory guidance and best practice.

  • Coordinate, review and update EHCPs, working collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers and a variety of external agencies.

  • Provide staff with practical strategies, specialist insights and resources to help them meet individual learner needs effectively.

  • Maintain accurate SEN records, ensuring robust monitoring, reporting and compliance.

  • Partner with the senior leadership team to champion inclusive approaches and drive continuous improvement across the school.



The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is currently working towards it).

  • Has proven experience as a SENCO, ideally within a specialist or secondary environment.

  • Possesses strong understanding of EHCP processes, legislation and best practice in SEND support.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

  • Is committed to helping young people in Birmingham with complex learning needs reach their full potential.
